Characteristics
Ludwigia reopens, also known as the Water Primrose, originates from North, Central, and South America. This Plant has spade shaped leaves which range in color from olive green to deep red. The vibrancy of this plant depends greatly on the amount of light it receives. When poorly illuminated, the colors will fade.This species is amphibious and will grow either submersed or partially submersed.

Care
Provide a high amount of light in the range of 3 to 5 watts per gallon, using full spectrum bulbs.
These plants benefit from regular additions of CO2, iron rich fertilizers, and trace elements.

Propagation
Propagation of this species is easily achieved from cuttings. Simply cut healthy mature plants with scissors and remove any leaves from the bottom 1-2 inches. Replant and new root growth will form from the last node on the stem.
